KAUNAS ATRAE UN RÉCORD DE INVERSIONES
La Sociedad Gestora de la Zona Libre Económica de Kaunas (FEZ) ha logrado resultados récord el año pasado, golpeando dos nuevos acuerdos que se llevará a la inversión total en Kaunas Fez a 238 millones de euros.
In 2011, the Kaunas FEZ Management Company signed agreements with Fortum Heat Lietuva, a Finnish-owned company, which invested EUR 200 million in the construction of a combined and heat power plant, and with Enwipellets, which is planning to invest EUR 38 million in the construction of a straw pellet plant. The combined investment by Fortum Heat Lietuva and Enwipellets is the largest in Kaunas FEZ’s history.
Since its establishment, the Kaunas FEZ Management Company has signed agreements with a total of 13 investors whose investments will reach EUR 343 million. 5 investors are already operating and one is finishing construction work. More than EUR 48 million has been invested in Kaunas FEZ already.
Last year, the Kaunas FEZ Management Company struck EUR 4 million worth of land lease deals. The investments were by existing customers (garage door manufacturer Ryterna, Kaunas-based pharmaceutical and food supplement manufacturer Aconitum and logistics company Lavisa FEZ Terminal) and land lease by new investors (Fortum Heat Lietuva and Enwipellets).
The companies that have established in Kaunas FEZ currently employ 401 people with that number set to increase to 940 in the near future. The biggest single employer will be Enwipellets which intends to create 210 jobs.
