Lituania se encuentra la 44 º en la lista más reciente de competitividad mundial, que se elabora anualmente por el Foro Económico Mundial, e incluye 142 países.

Having moved up three positions from last year, Lithuania stands 44th in the newest global competitiveness list which is compiled annually by the World Economic Forum and includes 142 countries.

The survey, which evaluates competitiveness of the world’s nations and their development level in many different aspects, has been including Lithuania since 2001.

The 2011 ranking puts Switzerland on the top, for the third consecutive year. In terms of the overall competitiveness, Estonia ranks 33rd while Latvia takes 64th position.

In the partial rating, which covers several basic areas, such as institutional environment, infrastructure, macroeconomics, healthcare and primary education, Lithuania is 49th, three positions higher than last year. Singapore, Hong Kong and Switzerland are in the leading trio in this ranking in 2011.

In terms of effectiveness, which embraces several areas, from higher education to development of financial market, Lithuania ranks 48th, up by one position from 2010. In his respect, this year’s three leading nations are Singapore, Switzerland and the United States.
